Shelah’s admiration for Boys to Men of God came about during her first Kid’s night out experience. She could not help but notice the warm atmosphere and the most vibrant and energetic children playing and laughing together. When she witnessed the children praising and worshiping God, she knew this was the place for her little boy. Born and raised in Boston, MA, Shelah moved to Houston TX where she gave birth to her son. In 2014, she and her son moved to Round Rock and started a new life. Shelah enjoys experiencing new adventures and traveling with her son. The highlight of the day for her son is seeing Mr. Robert and all of his friends at Boys to Men of God. Jess C. Scott says that ‘Friends are the Family you chose’ and we chose Boys to Men of God as our extended family.

Robert’s vision for Boys to Men of God derived through his leadership in a church small group he started named ‘Boys to Men’. The group was geared towards fathers and sons, who met as a group and made collaborative relationship connections through Bible study, outdoor activity, indoor fellowship, and of course, food! The group personified the phrase ‘it takes a village to raise a kid’ and took it to a different level, in which, God-centered Christian fathers grouped together to help raise boys of the next generation. Several mom's asked if their boys could join the group that didn't have dads ... how could he say no?
Robert is an ordained Christian minister, and was a small business owner of a precision CNC machine shop for 12 years. As the ministry kept growing and when the LORD told him to sell his business and go into full-time ministry he simply obeyed. He was a Commissioned level 4 Executive Protection Security Officer and served as Director of Security at his church for many years. His extensive background in military civil service began as a USN Search and Rescue swimmer (1984-1988), in which he received an honorable discharge in 1990. He now works a full time day job at Paradigm Metals and enjoys running the ministry in the evenings.
Robert takes pride in his beautiful wife Sarah of 26 years, and his children Matt (25), Brittani (21), and Luke (18) who love the LORD. He considers himself a gatherer and encourager of people, which has led him to pursue Boys to Men of God. His life is fueled by scripture verses that state, “Seek first His Kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well” (Matthew 6:33), and “Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight.” (Proverbs 3:5-6). Robert’s favorite thing to do is to seek the LORD in the mornings by prayer and reading, while sipping on a hot cup of coffee.
Matt was born and raised in Austin Texas and is currently working as an engineer. Being near during the conception and execution of B2MOG he’s witnessed the immediate and eternal impact it’s had on the attendees. “Some of my fondest memories are from my childhood when my father, mother, siblings, and I would run around exploring areas in and around Austin. It didn’t matter what we were doing, whether we were riding bikes at 6:00 am, feeding ducks at the Round Rock park, or just tossing a ball, the most vivid aspect was our togetherness. I'm really excited to be a part of a team that’s dedicated to cultivating similar experiences for less fortunate children.” When Matt isn’t working, planning a wedding, or at church, he’s at the shooting range, designing and printing 3D parts, or relaxing with friends and family.
